I did a similar route last Sunday, it was very fun but I’ve made just a couple small changes to it because I rarely do the same route twice! Hopefully the changes are improvements. We’ll see!
I’m going to use it as an “Easy B/C” route for any of you who are stronger C riders and would like a little more challenge.
Start at Oakdale Nature Preserve with bathrooms and water available. We’ll head to Lake Elmo using newly paved 50th Street, the Lake Jane/Demontreville area and the newly-repaved Little Bluestem neighborhood trails. Rest stop is at the Holiday Station on Manning/Stillwater Way at 10.5 miles.
We’ll come back on newly-paved trails along the south side of 50th Street North and Oakdale Nature Preserve. Yes, I do like brand new pavement!
I plan to ride at a mid-B/C, fairly mellow, pace and probably average around 12ish mph at the end. The route should be easy to follow so if faster, self-sufficient riders would like to grab it and ride at their own pace, please do that.
Rain, gusty winds or anything nasty and ride could be delayed or canceled. Please check the usual places or don’t hesitate to call or text me at 612-381-6711 if any questions or concerns.
