This will be an easier B/C ride for any stronger C riders who’d like a little more challenge. We’ll try to average around 12 mph but can lower that pace depending on wind, hills, temperature and how we’re all doing.
Ride starts at Oakdale Nature Preserve with bathrooms and water available. Our rest stop will be at the Holiday station on Manning/Stillwater Way at 13.2 miles with other short stops as needed for water breaks and to keep the group together. Faster riders are welcome to grab the route and ride off ahead.
We’ll head into and around Lake Elmo using mostly roads with nice shoulders and jump off and on a couple pretty little trails including the Wildflower Prairie loop trail which has been just beautiful this year.
The route is rolling with a few little gradual hills and we’ll adjust the pace and regroup as needed.
Route is loaded so please grab and download or pin to your phone.
Any rain or other unpleasant conditions and ride will likely be canceled. Please check the normal places or don’t hesitate to call or text me at 612-381-6711 if any doubt about ride going.
Just an FYI – On Monday, 8/5, they are supposed to put the second coat of asphalt on Hadley Avenue between 40th and 50th and re-do the park trails that are very bumpy. Rain is in the forecast, so this may be postponed. This shouldn’t affect this route, but if I need to make changes, I’ll post that in the ride description and email any of you who are pre-registered.
