This ride starts from Riverfront Park in Fridley and follows the Mississippi River Regional Trail to the Coon Rapids Dam. We'll cross the dam, head south on roads and trails and eventually follow the Shingle Creek Trail. When we get to the Camden Bridge we cross the river again and head back to Riverfront Park. The first part of the route has a few hills; after we cross the Dam it's mostly flat except for several overpasses. This will be a mapless, stay-together ride although the Ride with GPS link has all the information you need to navigate the route by yourself if you'd like to zoom on ahead. I haven't had a chance to check out the route so we'll hope that all the roads, trails and bridges are still there.

There will be a rest stop at the Coon Rapids Dam and another one at Palmer Lake Nature Area. Remember to bring water and snacks for the rest stops!

Directions to the ride start: from I-694, head south on East River Road for about 1/2 mile to the traffic light at 51st Way and turn right to enter the park. Then turn LEFT along the park road and proceed to the parking area. If you have been on this ride before, please note the change in the ride start location within Riverfront Park. We have a better chance of finding an open restroom (maybe even a flush toilet) at the south lot.
