Yes, we all missed the great 4th of July Pizza Party Dick, Rita and the rest of the crew had planned for us. Bummer, I know! Lyle thought we should do our own pizza party just on a little smaller scale and unfortunately, you’ll have to buy your own. Another bummer!
We’ll leave from Lakewood Hills Park on Orchard Lane (Lyle has great directions in his ride description again) and head northeast for a big loop before devouring a pizza or another lunch special on Carbone’s patio in White Bear Lake. My route is a couple miles longer than Lyle’s route and goes a little further north. But NE wind predicted so hopefully we’ll fly back to Carbone’s!
Bathroom and water at Lakewood Hills Park and I plan to stop at the portable toilet on Jamaca at 6 miles, the Hanifl Athletic Fields at 17 miles and then Carbone’s at 26 miles for lunch. My return trip from Carbone’s goes a slightly different way but still only a little more than 5 miles and mostly downhill back to Lakewood Hills Park. We’ll average in the 12-13 mph range and maybe still get to Carbone’s first or hopefully around the same time as Lyle’s group.
Trip home is pretty easy to follow so if you don’t feel like stopping for lunch, please feel free to continue the route back. Make sure to print off or download the route from ridewithgps especially if you plan to continue without stopping for lunch and without ride leader support. I’ll be eating pizza!
Unsettled weather patterns this time of year and I don’t plan to ride in the rain. If rain predicted, ride may be canceled and we’ll do it on a nicer day.
