We'll start from Keller Lake in Maplewood, work our way to the Gateway Trail, then through assorted streets and trails to a leisurely lunch stop at Carbone's Pizzeria in White Bear Lake. After lunch someone will wake the ride leader and we'll head back to Keller by a shorter and less complicated route. There will be a brief pit stop and water break at 9 miles, and the lunch stop is at 14.5 miles. The last 7.5 miles after lunch are all downhill. Sort of. Carbone's has a fairly large outdoor seating area, daily lunch specials, and their menu includes other things besides pizza. A cue sheet or two will be available if you'd like to skip lunch or ride ahead on your own. You can also download the route to the Ride with GPS app on your phone or print your own map and cue sheet from the Ride With GPS link.
The start location is on US Highway 61 (also known as Maplewood Drive), just south of MN Highway 36, and the driveway into the parking lot shares the traffic light with eastbound County Road B. It's the parking lot for what Google Maps calls "Keller Regional Park Island Shelter 1". Restrooms and water should be available at the start but at this time of year all bets are off, so bring water with you. As always, check for ride cancellations before leaving home.
