PLEASE NOTE: JEAN BENTLEY IS GOING TO LEAD MY RIDE TODAY. UNFORTUNATELY, I'M SICK ... AGAIN! HAVE A NICE RIDE!
Not sure who’s still riding or if a lot of you have hung your bikes up for the season. But if you’re still interested, this looks like a fairly good day to ride. The roads are pretty clean and dry and there aren’t a lot of salt piles left out there. I think road bikes might be okay. I originally planned to ride my old beater mountain bike, but thinking I’ll stick the road bike on the rack maybe one more time.
Route starts at Tamarack Nature Center on Otter Lake Road and wanders around up in the Hugo area. The building is open so bathrooms and water available at the start. We can also make a portable toilet stop at Lions Park by Hugo City Hall at 14 miles and a little longer rest stop at the KwikTrip on Frenchman Road at 19 miles.
Lyle’s doing a little shorter C version so his group (hopefully he has one) will be behind us (hopefully it is "us" and not just me!). Start with me and drift back to him – whatever works for you. I’ll be riding at a B/C pace around 12ish mph average give or take. I haven’t ridden in a couple weeks so no land-speed records set here and faster riders certainly welcome to ride off ahead.
Route is loaded so grab it, download it, whatever. If the weather forecast changes and rain, snow, colder temperatures or gusty winds and ride will definitely be canceled so please check the Forum, Ride Calendar or call or text me at 612-381-6711. Oh, and please park in the first parking lot on your right close to Otter Lake Road as you come in the Nature Center road.
