Get me there
Mississippi Crossings Event Center
307 E River Pkwy
Hennepin County, United States 55316

Access East River Parkway from West River Road. (Confusingly both are on the West side of the Mississippi River!) Access is from West River Road between Highway 169 and the Elm Creek dam. There are two access roads right next to each other. The correct one turns left to the event center and the wrong one turns right and dead ends at a boat ramp. When you get on the correct access road (East River Parkway) you will immediately see several entrances into the large Event Center parking lot. You may take any of the entrances.

NOTE THE LATER START TIME! (Changed to 5:00 so people who work can make it)

This is a summer concert edition of the regular Two Scoops Anyone ride. The start time is 5:00. This allows the ride to end in time to both get a couple of scoops (optional) and hear a band at the Mississippi Crossings bandshell (also optional). Because parking gets crowded, by arriving at 5 we can park in choice spots before the other concert-goers arrive. If you want to stay for the music, you might want to set up your lawn chair before the ride.

The last concert for 2024 is August 22nd.

There are food trucks, Cullen's Ice Cream and a local market that are all open during the concert (located near the bandshell). If you think you might want to stay for the concert, bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. If anyone is interested in just ice cream and would prefer Two Scoops in Anoka, I will lead those interested on the 2 mile round trip to Two Scoops. (Yes, you can do Two Scoops and have time to listen to the music as well!)

This ride will average around 12 MPH. This is a no-drop ride. The only rest stop planned is at the Elm Creek Chalet about 10 miles in, so bring your own snack.

This ride takes place mostly on the nice (and hilly) bike paths inside Elm Creek Park. The start/end venue is close to the park in order to maximize our time inside the park.

Outdoor toilets are available at the start.

This will be a hilly ride inside Elm Creek Park. Expect some very slow climbs and some faster descents. A no drop ride, with average speed adjusted as needed based on the participants.

A slightly shorter variant of this route is possible. Tell the ride leader at the rest stop if interested in cutting out 3 miles. A longer variant is possible if the group wants to tackle more of Elm Creek's hills.
