STARTING FROM THE SUMMERTIME PARKING LOT LOCATION!

The Starting Parking Lot is located in the parking lot in front of a building at -

    5114 N Mississippi Dr, Minneapolis, MN 55430

The building may a Biffie in front of it for winter since the wading pool is not open yet,

but if flushing toilets are a must, then we will start the route by riding ½ mile south to Kroening Park, then ride back to the ride start parking lot.

ATTENTION!  Some mapping programs may not show the correct starting location.

The ride start parking lot entrance is at the very EAST end of 53rd Ave N

    Rest stops will be -

    • 17 miles - Elm Creek Park chalet - restrooms, water - a shorter time stop
    • 30 miles - Coon Rapids McDonald's - restrooms, water, soda, food, snacks - a longer time stop

Again, as always, the RideWithGPS route posted is only a general suggestion, as I routinely change it up slightly when needed.

This ride is a follow-the-leader keep-the-group-together at a pace that is acceptable to ALL that show.

I will be riding a road bike with 700x28mm tires, however, others that have had 700x23mm tires have ridden before with no issue.

Optional stop after the ride at Forgotten Star for refreshments and snacks.

I’ve used this route before (a few times) on days with a south wind like Thursday’s forecast is predicting. We’ll use the Gateway Trail for shelter from some of that south wind going home.

Start at Oakdale Nature Preserve with indoor bathrooms and water. This is a deluxe package ride with indoor bathrooms and water at the start and at our rest stop at the Washington County Public Works building on Myeron Road at 14.3 miles. No food there, so bring whatever snacks you’ll need to keep you going. We don’t go all the way to Pine Point.

The wind should push us up Hilton Trail and Jamaca through Withrow and out to our rest stop. There are a couple very short pieces going south so we’ll get a little sampling of the wind. After the deluxe rest stop, we immediately jump on the Gateway Trail and head home hopefully with some shelter from the wind. We exit the Gateway onto 50th, loop through a park trail, again for a little wind protection, and we’re back.

B/C pace, averaging around 12.5-13ish mph at the end. Faster riders are welcome to ride off ahead.

Route is here so please grab, download or pin to your phone. If the forecast changes and any rain or unpleasant weather, I’ll cancel or postpone. Any questions or concerns, call or text me at 612-381-6711, check the Forum or Ride Calendar or your email for any updates if you’ve pre-registered.

I think Lyle plans to do a C version of this ride, so choose whichever ride works for you.

We're all happy to see Carol back on the bike. Especially me, because now I can let Carol do all the work and list copycat rides again! We will be following the same route as Carol's B/C group, but our average speed will be about 11 mph and we'll try to stick together. Don't be dismayed if you see me on an ebike -- I'll keep looking in the helmet mirror to make sure the group is back there somewhere. Please check Carol's B/C ride description for full details, and call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 if you have any questions.

    Lift Bridge Brewery Ride

Faster A Group - 20-21 mph Average For Ride - 35 mile route includes Nason Hill: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42759344
A Group - 17-18 mph Average For Ride - Traditional 30 mile route this week: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42759375

The Lift Bridge Ride is back for yet another year!

This ride features a descent of the very exhilarating "Fairy Falls Hill" and then a gradual climb from the valley of just two miles on the Brown's Creek Trail. Overall, the terrain is quite flat for a route in the St. Croix River Valley.  We will stay together for a warm up through town and out to Dellwood Rd (MN 96), then the faster A group may split off and a secondary group that averages 17-18 mph will stay together for the remainder of the ride.

Stay for socialization and refreshments (Including their delicious site-brewed root beer) afterward if you desire. Some snacks are available as well at the brewery, but they do not serve any food.

Rain may cause cancellation at the leaders' discretion.

    Hope to see you there!

We are reviving an old time favorite, touring several Fargo movie locations in the NE Cities area. This is a fun ride where we all stay together to relive the classic Fargo movie.

We highly recommend re-viewing the movie before the ride date.  Ride storyteller Doug Carlson will provide history and background on the memorable locations.

This ride is sponsored by Minnesota Randonneurs. Please go to http://www.MnRando.org for more details and to officially register for the ride. There are membership requirements: you do need to be a Randonneurs USA member which covers ride insurance, collecting and managing RUSA ride statistics and randonneur award levels. You can sign up with RUSA at www.RUSA.org. Cost is $30 for 2024.  You can also join Minnesota Randonneurs for $25/year or pay a one day ride fee of $5.

The GPS route and cue sheet are currently being reviewed but will be posted before the ride date

Please note that this event is not a TCBC ride and although TCBC members can receive mileage credit for riding it, the ride is not covered by our LAB insurance. Minnesota Randonneurs, through Randonneurs USA, has their own LAB insurance policy coverage.

    Get me there
    Long Lake Boat Launch
    Beach Road
    New Brighton, Minnesota 55112

We may get lucky and have a break in the weather for an evening ride on Saturday. The ride starts from Long Lake Boat Launch in New Brighton and heads up to Circle Pines for a brief rest stop at Golden Lake Park. This will be a mapless, stay-together ride averaging about 11 mph. Check the GPS link for a preview of the route.

Google Maps should recognize Long Lake Boat Launch as a destination -- the address is simply Beach Road, New Brighton. Don't ask your GPS to take you to Long Lake Park because you'll wind up in the wrong place! Directions from I-694: Take the Long Lake Road exit, head north on Long Lake Road and then take the first available right onto Beach Road. Before leaving home, please check the ride calendar or the TCBC Forum to make sure the ride has not been canceled. Call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 if you have any questions.

Join us for the very popular Withrow & Beyond Loop on a Monday

Note! - For 2024  the ride category is posted as “A” level.  We've found that the 2nd group pace line is averaging 17 to 19 mph average.  This is very doable pace for strong A/B Riders so still plan on joining us.  There will of course be the faster group A level riders that will lead out.

Please utilize the pre-registration tool and RWGPS Link for route information.

Bring a lawn chair, beverages, and snacks for post ride social hour!

If the weather is questionable please watch your email for ride cancellation or updates on start times.  You must be registered for the ride to receive the email updates or check the forum for possible cancellation.
