***NEW START LOCATION****
***NEW Route as of 7/02/2023 with Less Gateway Trail and other revisions in the Default link or here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48617851
Enjoy the solitude of the sunrise and very few cars out on the road yet, and be home before noon. We start this ride in Arden Hills and weave thru the suburbs to reach the Gateway Trail just east of Mahtomedi. Route has been changed to avoid the rougher city streets and neighborhoods, and avoiding the roughest parts of the Gateway Trail. Be finished easily before lunch time, but later as sunrise becomes later as the seasons progress.
Most riders do the 64 mile route and many times there is a second ride leader on the ride doing the 64 mile option, but there is the possibilty you will need to be self sufficent. From Pine Point shorter route goes north and west to head back with an optional rest stop at mile 45 at the Holiday station and the longer route goes to Osceola for the !00 route and beyond to St Croix Falls for approximately 120 + miles. They are an out and back, so mileage can be dependant on when you would want to turn around to come back.
Main ride leader will most likely do the 100 mile or more option ride, so you may need to be self sufficient if there is no leader on the 64 mile route. Ride leader has maps for anyone wanting to do the 100 mile + routes at their own pace or speed. Please download the 64 mile route to your prefered navigational device or use the ride with gps app on your phone.
If in doubt about the weather, feel free to call/text the ride leaders.
Area Trail Map: Hayward - Seeley CAMBA Trail Map
Depart at 10 AM from the OO Trailhead. (A/B Level). We’ll be riding south on the Makwa Trail for an out and back ride with mileage of your own choosing. You may also arrange carpooling for a straight through ride from this trailhead to Fish Hatchery Park. Distance is about 16 miles. There is usually a group lunch gathering after the ride.
Steve Block will be the ride leader.
All riders must be current TCBC members and will need to sign a TCBC waiver for each ride. Pre-registration is encouraged.
This is a social ride with the leader riding at the high end of a B pace. I would like to keep the group together, but faster riders are welcome to go ahead
We will be cruzin through Delano, ride along the Crow River, Rebecca Park, Rockford and Loretto. Mostly quite roads, with rolling hills, no major climbs
Rest stop at the Kwik Trip in Rockford at mile 25
Bathrooms but NO water available at the ride start.
Looking for qualified ride leader to ride sweep
There has been ongoing construction at the West side of the Coon Rapids Dam park. The park is not accessible from the north on West River Road, but is from the south. To get there, head to Noble Avenue (from north or south), then to 97th Avenue, heading east to Russell Avenue N (which becomes W River Rd). I'm also hoping and praying that my rear tire will hold--if I get another flat, I may have to cancel this ride before it runs on Sunday afternoon.
This ride is a variation on John Ford's original Park to Park ride. This will be a relaxed B/C pace ride and I will be leading the group from the front, employing a no-drop strategy, regrouping at stoplights and so forth. I can help with most simple bike-related issues, like flat tires or dropped chains.
Look for my Black Honda CRV at the Coon Rapids Dam West parking lot (to get there, take highway 610 to Noble Pkwy; go north to 97th Ave; then east to Russell Ave; then north to the park's entrance (Russell Ave becomes W River Rd)).
We'll start out going south on the bike trail along West River Road, eventually moving to the road. We'll continue south to 73rd Ave, then head east on bike trails to Regent Ave and north to the Rush Creek bike trail, then west to Elm Creek Park. We'll go around the park to the north side, where we'll head east into Champlin via Hayden Lake Rd, to West River Road, and then head back south to the ride start. Rest break at Elm Creek Park Chalet, just past the midway point in the ride.
Bring some snacks if you want something to munch on. Cell at ride: (612) 581-9915. If in doubt regarding weather, feel free to give me a call.
There's an opportunity here for qualified ride leaders to pick up a co-lead credit: just let me know at ride start if you're interested.
If your life is busy right now, this might just be the perfect ride for you! Short and Sweet is a mapless ride that will meander through White Bear Lake. Ride starts at Kowalski’s north parking lot. From there we will head west toward Bald Eagle Lake and go north. We will meander through neighborhoods to end up crossing Hy 61, onto Portland Avenue and hop on the Lake Shore trail back to the ride start.
Ride leader will keep a pace of 11-12 MPH average. The ride is fairly flat with a couple of manageable inclines to spice things up a bit. Please arrive early enough for the ride briefing.
If any questions, feel free to call/text Debra Eardley at 651-398-9730.
Ride will be cancelled if the weather is inclement, which I doubt it will be!
Hope to see you then!
Park in the north end of the lot.
The area is mostly flat. 20-21 mph average.
This is a 27-mile loop that takes us up to Lino Lakes and Centerville, with a rest stop at Wargo Nature Center. Our average speed will be about 11 mph -- maybe faster because the terrain is pretty flat and the winds are expected to be light. It's another mapless, stay-together ride, although self-sufficient riders are welcome to download the GPS route and go at their own pace. We aren't planning to stop for provisions along the way, so bring water and snacks.
Please note the start time of 11:00 am. This is the time of year when we sometimes wait for it to warm up a couple more degrees before riding.
Meet in the upper parking lot for the Shoreview City Hall and Community Center. I usually park several rows into the parking lot from the entrance -- look for a grey-ish SUV with the tailgate open. Restrooms and water are available in the Community Center. Before leaving home, please check the TCBC Ride Calendar or Forum for possible delay or cancellation. Call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 with any questions.
This is a copy cat ride of Lyle's ride today. Thanks to Lyle for sharing his route. This is a 27-mile loop that takes us to Lino Lakes and Centerville, with a rest stop at Wargo Nature Center. Our average speed will be about 12.5-13 mph. The terrain is pretty flat and the winds are expected to be light. It's another mapless, stay-together ride, although self-sufficient riders are welcome to download the GPS route and go at their own pace. We aren't planning to stop for provisions along the way, so bring water and snacks.
Meet in the upper parking lot for the Shoreview City Hall and Community Center. I will park several rows into the parking lot from the entrance near Lyle's vehicle. Look for a navy blue SUV with the tailgate open. Restrooms and water are available in the Community Center. Before leaving home, please check the TCBC Ride Calendar or Forum for possible delay or cancellation. Call or text Rick at 612-206-5334 with any questions.
This is a social B ride with the leader averaging about 14-15 MPH over the course of the route. Scenic route featuring views of several northern Ramsey County lakes. Ride leaders prefer a mostly stay together ride, but self sufficient riders are welcome to ride at their own pace. Ride briefing will be five minutes before the ride start, with departure immediately after the ride briefing.
Ride starts at the parking lot on the NORTH side of the Roseville Skating Center off Woodhill Drive. Bathrooms usually available at ride start (closed on holidays). Rest stop at Caribou Coffee / Cup & Cone in White Bear Lake.
Please preregister for the ride, and download the route onto your GPS bike computer, or print a map and cue sheet, by clicking the GPS Route Link, then click on More in the black box above the ride name, then Print Map & Cue PDF then Print Official.
Must be an active TCBC member or 1st time guest to ride. Hope to see you there !
Welcome to the very popular Withrow & Beyond Loop - 2024 Orange Cone Brigade Edition
Due to the road construction on 75th in Willernie, the ride start location this season will be at White Bear Beach (Ramsey County Beach).
Note: Take note of the earlier start time ( 5:00 )
Sunset will be at 6:40 so it's likely that the A group will be finishing close to dusk. Please bring bike lights and wear bright clothing. Note - These are long A rides in the summer months - you need to ensure you have proper water on route - there are a couple of spots along the route where you can get water - but do not be left out in the heat! Proper nutrition and hydration pre-ride are important. We will leave the ride start in groups so that there is not a propensity to “chase” early on and each group can get a warm up appropriate for the level and pace they intend to ride. A+ group ~22 mph average speed: 32 miles: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47145980 Bring a lawn chair, beverages, and snacks for post ride social hour!
You must be a member or first time guest to participate.
Please utilize the RWGPS Link for route information.
We highly recommend that you pre-register for the ride. If the weather is questionable please watch your email for ride cancellation or updates on start times. You must be registered for the ride to receive the email updates. Otherwise you can also check the TCBC forum for possible cancellation.
Hope to see you there!
