The Starting Parking Lot is located in the parking lot in front of a building at -
5114 N Mississippi Dr, Minneapolis, MN 55430
The building has a Biffie in front of it for winter since the wading pool is not open yet,
but if flushing toilets are a must, then continue ½ mile south to Kroening Park, then ride back to the ride start parking lot.
ATTENTION! Some mapping programs may not show the correct starting location.
The ride start parking lot entrance is at the very EAST end of 53rd Ave N
Rest stops will be -
Again, as always, the RideWithGPS route posted is only a general suggestion, as I routinely change it up slightly when needed.
This ride is a follow-the-leader keep-the-group-together at a pace that is acceptable to ALL that show.
I will be riding a road bike with 700x28mm tires, however, others that have had 700x23mm tires have ridden before with no issue.
Optional stop after the ride at Forgotten Star for refreshments and snacks.
Join Minnesota Randonneurs for one of our classic routes down towards the driftless areas of SE Minnesota. Highlights include a photo op shot at the Lake Lyllesby dam, a hidden bike trail near Zombrota, a cool lunch stop in Wanamingo, impressive prairie churches and the bucolic Sogn Valley with many long time family farms followed by the memorable Sogn Hill (aka Pudding Boy Hill).
This ride is sponsored by Minnesota Randonneurs. Please go to http://www.MnRando.org for more details and to officially register for the ride. There are membership requirements: you do need to be a Randonneurs USA member which covers ride insurance, collecting and managing RUSA ride statistics and randonneur award levels. You can sign up with RUSA at www.RUSA.org. Cost is $30 for 2024. You can also join Minnesota Randonneurs for $25/year or pay a one day ride fee of $5.
The latest GPS link is available on the MnRando site once your register. Cue sheet is available through the GPS link using RWGPS
Please note that this event is not a TCBC ride and although TCBC members will receive mileage credit, the ride is not covered by our LAB insurance. Minnesota Randonneurs, through Randonneurs USA, has their own LAB insurance policy coverage.
31 mile loop, 98% paved. Park at Staring Lake Park (east parking lot), 14800 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie. Restrooms in shelter building by west parking lot. EV chargers are located in the west parking lot. Some trailside port-a-potties are not out yet. We will stop at stores as needed. Ride paved trails and a few residential streets to: the Bloomington Ferry Bridge; The Landing; Shakopee (break at Bittner's Bakery, you may bring a bag lunch); Chaska; returning via the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail and other paved bike paths (long climb along Flying Cloud Dr.) or roads. Expect 12.5 mph average moving speed with faster speeds (16-17 mph) on open flat sections.
A mapless stay together ride that is perhaps the flattest ride in the club. We'll start at Harriet Island in St. Paul and ride through Lilydale Park to the St. Paul Yatch Club. We'll turn around and retrace the route riding pass our starting location and head down Plato and the Robert Piram trail to Kaposia landing in South St. Paul. From there we'll continue down the MRT to the Rock Island Swing Bridge for our rest stop. We'll return on the the MRT and make a short stop at the Charles W. 'Speed' Holman Memorial. After this short stop we'll head back to Harriet Island using Bayfield, Filmore, and Harriet Island Blvd.
There is water and facilities at the rest stop, but you should plan on bringing your own snack.
This will be a fairly flat, mapless ride on trails and roads, with a rest stop at Casey's in Circle Pines. We'll probably average about 11 mph and as usual, faster riders are welcome to go on ahead.
Meet in the upper parking lot for the Shoreview City Hall and Community Center. We usually park at the north end, near the entrance. The huge playground just across the street in Shoreview Commons has become very popular, so we'll probably be two or three rows into the parking lot. Restrooms and water are available in the Community Center. Before leaving home, please check the TCBC Ride Calendar or Forum for possible delay or cancellation. Call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 or Debra at 651 398 9730 with any questions.
Leaving from the Minnetonka Ice Arena, this is a comfortable route around Lake Minnetonka riding through Wazata and Excelsior with about 1175 feet of climbing. There is one steep but short climb at mile 11. (Tonkawa Rd) The average speed by the end of the ride will be close to 15 MPH. Leader's position will vary within the group. Faster riders are welcome to ride ahead but please ride safely. Please pre-register for the ride and arrive early. The ride briefing will begin 5 minutes before the ride start.
Start and Rest Stop: Restrooms available at the ride start and at the rest stop in Excelsior. Planned rest stop is the Red Bench Bakery at mile 19. Dunn Bros. Coffee is an alternative.
Leader Cancellation: The ride may be cancelled if it is raining or if severe weather is expected. Please check the Forum Ride Alert for updates on the TCBC website. Call or text the leader if you have questions.
Parking: Parking is usually plentiful by the Ice Arena and adjacent lots.

Join us on a warm-up type first Wisconsin Hills ride of the season, as we make a loop out of River Falls on the quiet, rolling, and often obscure backroads with of course no need for center lines. Starting at Hoffman Park in River Falls, we head east with the wind to the village of Martell, dip south through a lovely little valley and by my favorite herd of cows, then hook back west to our rest stop in Ellsworth. From there, it's the up and down return to River Falls, via a long descent, a pleasant wooded stretch with a quite steep hill, the long long descent down Happy Valley Road, and even some flatter stretches of rural road.
As ride leader, still quite out of shape, I plan to ride in the rear, and you are welcome to ride as slow as me, especially on the several reasonably long ascents, as well as the shorter but really steep hills. And you are welcome to blaze ahead with the other, fitter riders, possibly training for more challenging rides later on.
This route has relatively little climbing per mile. But that is relative to your typical Wisconsin Hills ride. In any case, join us and enjoy the ride!
Note that we depart from Hoffman Park River Falls at 1:00 pm. (The ride briefing will start at least 5 minutes prior to this.) (Do be sure to check for an unlikely but possible ride cancellation before coming to the ride.)
This 46 mile route is at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38997018. I will plan to have as many actual, real maps and cue sheets as registered riders.
[Note: even if you have NO doubt about the weather, be sure to check for Ride Cancellation by the morning of the ride.]
