Looks like a fairly decent day to ride and it’s my birthday. Big whoop!! Have Pilates in the morning and too cold, windy, gets dark too early and I’m too wimpy to ride my entire age, but thinking we can do a third of it. You can do the math! Temperature supposed to be in the 40s with a west wind so planning to ride north and south from Oakdale Nature Preserve up to Tamarack Nature Center and back. We’ll make a quick rest stop at the Tamarack Nature Center biffy at about 12-14 miles before turning around.
Bring water and a snack since we don’t plan to stop anywhere to buy stuff. As always, this time of year, won’t break my heart if you’re even more wimpy than me and no one shows up! And ride is contingent on the forecast being fairly accurate. Colder temps, wind gusts approaching 20 mph and I might cancel and spend my birthday curled up in front of the fireplace! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE RIDE CALENDAR, RIDE CANCELLATIONS ON THE FORUM OR CALL OR TEXT ME 612.381.6711 IF ANY CONCERNS ABOUT RIDE GOING.
Bathrooms and water available at the Oakdale Discovery Center at the start and biffy at Tamarack Nature Center. I posted the route and I’ll have a couple cue sheets available at the start. Also, this time of year, I’d like us to ride together or with people who know where they’re going because I don’t want anyone getting lost or dealing with a flat or mechanical in the cold or impending darkness all by themselves. We’ll ride at a B/C level pace and average around 12-13 when we’re done.
Thanks for pre-registering.
