We ride two beautiful trails, the Cannon Valley Trail and the Hay Creek Trail. We’ll first ride to Red Wing. Those wanting to do 40 miles will return to Welch and then on to Cannon Falls for lunch. For 52 miles, we will continue on 6 miles to the end of the Hay Creek Trail, then head back to Red Wing and on to a break at Welch (and a clothing change if needed) and on to Cannon Falls and lunch. After lunch, we ride back to Welch for a total of 40 or 52 miles. For the optional 20 extra miles to reach 72, choose between a round trip to Cannon Falls or Red Wing from Welch. As an alternative, we may drop the Hay Creek portion and add the new trail to Lake Byllesby. Daily pass, $7; Season pass, $30.
This classic ride is rather flat, smooth, scenic, with miles between most stops.
There are 29 and 42 mile options.

Mostly on county roads, with some trails.
Easy miles generally, depending on the wind.
FYI - As your leader, I will be riding at B-Pace and may ride any of the routes. Many riders will be averaging 15MPH or more, but I always strive to add another leader for the faster paced riders.
Please note: Although I don't make a practice of cancelling, this ride may be cancelled for cold, rain, snow or extremely wet roads. I do ride in cold (down to 40F), but not on icy or snowy roads. If in doubt about cancellation, please contact leader.
This ride will average 12mph or less. This is a no-drop ride. The only rest stop planned is at the Elm Creek Chalet about 10 miles in, so bring your own snack.
This ride takes place mostly on the nice (and hilly) bike paths inside Elm Creek Park. The start/end venue is close to the park in order to maximize our time inside the park. The venue has another nice attribute: it is close to the Two Scoops ice cream parlor in Anoka. For those who want to, after we return to the finish area the first time, we can then ride to Two Scoops, have a scoop or two, then return to the finish to end the ride.
Outdoor toilets are available at the start seasonally. They are also available year round at the Elm Creek Park Singletrack trailhead about 2 miles from the start.
This will be a hilly ride inside Elm Creek Park. Expect some very slow climbs and some faster descents. A no drop ride, with average speed adjusted down from 12mph if needed.
A slightly shorter variant of this route is possible. Tell the ride leader at the rest stop if interested in cutting out 3 miles.
RAINING UNTIL EARLY AFTERNOON. WILL POST A RIDE FOR FRIDAY BUT WITH A DIFFERENT ROUTE. PLEASE CHECK THE RIDE CALENDAR. SORRY! BUT NICE RAN!
I’m trying this weekly ride from Oakdale Nature Preserve on Thursdays for the month of May. Bathrooms and water are available at the start in the Discovery Center building. There’ll be a rest stop at a gas station, park or Public Works building about halfway through the ride or sooner if needed as portable toilets pop up. Also check to see if we stop where you can buy food or if you’ll need to bring a snack.
A lot of you know me, know I have a short attention span and rarely do the same route twice. My rides from Oakdale will be between 25-30 miles, give or take, and I’ll use 3-4 or more maybe different routes depending on the wind direction and how the mood strikes me. We may ride east, north or south. You’ll need to check on Wednesdays to see which route I plan to use if you’d like to download or pin to your phone.
Spring weather changes in a nanosecond, so please check the Forum, Ride Calendar or call or text me at 612-381-6711 if rain in the forecast to make sure we’re riding. If you don’t see details of the Thursday ride by Wednesday evening, please don’t hesitate to call or text me and say “Hey, you awake … and where are we riding tomorrow?”
Rides will be at my usual B/C pace, averaging around 12.5-13 mph, typical rolling Washington County roads. Faster riders are always welcome to grab the route and ride ahead.
This is a series of Thursday C rides starting from the Oakdale Nature Preserve and heading in whatever direction seems like a good idea at the time. These are mapless, stay-together rides at distances ranging from 20 to 30 miles and a moving average speed of around 11 mph. The nominal start time is 10:30 a.m. but may change depending upon weather conditions.
It looks like Thursday will be rainy, and if so this ride will be rescheduled to Friday. Check the calendar on Thursday morning! This week's C route heads up to White Bear Lake, with a rest stop at Cup and Cone. Carol tells me the flavor of the day on Friday is raspberry. Sounds good to me.
Restrooms and water are available in the Oakdale Discovery Center building. Please check the TCBC ride calendar or the Forum for cancellations or rescheduling before leaving home, and call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 with any questions.
Lift Bridge Brewery Ride
Faster A Group - 20-21 mph Average For Ride - 35 mile route includes Nason Hill: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42759344A Group - 17-18 mph Average For Ride - Traditional 30 mile route this week: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42759375
The Lift Bridge Ride is back for yet another year!
This ride features a descent of the very exhilarating "Fairy Falls Hill" and then a gradual climb from the valley of just two miles on the Brown's Creek Trail. Overall, the terrain is quite flat for a route in the St. Croix River Valley. We will stay together for a warm up through town and out to Dellwood Rd (MN 96), then the faster A group may split off and a secondary group that averages 17-18 mph will stay together for the remainder of the ride.
Stay for socialization and refreshments (Including their delicious site-brewed root beer) afterward if you desire. Some snacks are available as well at the brewery, but they do not serve any food.
Rain may cause cancellation at the leaders' discretion.
Hope to see you there!

Join this classic ride to Marine on St. Croix with a rest stop at Pine Point Park and The General Store. Restrooms and water are available at ride start. The 29 and 47 mile routes are mostly flat but the 63 mile route is moderately hilly.
The 29 mile route goes south on Portland to Buffalo and follows the same return as all the routes. 47 mile route goes to Pine Point with an optional return on the trail if winds are unfavorable for the regular return. 63 mile route goes to Pine Point and then to Marine on St Croix.
Please download your route choice to your navigation device, as no paper maps will be available.

STARTING FROM THE SUMMERTIME PARKING LOT LOCATION!
The Starting Parking Lot is located in the parking lot in front of a building at -
5114 N Mississippi Dr, Minneapolis, MN 55430
This building's restrooms are not open yet, so will start the ride by first going 0.5 miles south on the trail to the flushing toilets at Kroening Park, then ride back to the ride start parking lot.
ATTENTION! Some mapping programs may not show the correct starting location.
The ride start parking lot entrance is at the very EAST end of 53rd Ave N
Rest stops will be -
17 miles - Elm Creek Park chalet - restrooms, water - a shorter time stop
30 miles - Coon Rapids McDonald's - restrooms, water, soda, food, snacks - a longer time stop
Again, as always, the RideWithGPS route posted is only a general suggestion, as I routinely change it up slightly when needed.
This ride is a follow-the-leader keep-the-group-together at a pace that is acceptable to ALL that show.
I will be riding a road bike with 700x28mm tires, however, others that have had 700x23mm tires have ridden before with no issue.
Optional stop after the ride at Forgotten Star for refreshments and snacks.
No, it's not a Boolean expression. It's a C ride from Oakdale Nature Preserve to White Bear Lake, with a rest stop at Cup and Cone or Caribou. This is a rescheduling of the rained-out Thursday from Oakdale ride. I don't drink coffee so I'll be sampling the raspberry flavor of the day at Cup and Cone. This will be a mapless, stay-together ride at an average speed of about 11 mph. The GPS route link is there if you want to grab it. If you want to go faster, Carol is leading a B/C group on a different route.
We got rained out on Thursday from Oakdale, so this will be kind of a Friday from Oakdale for this week. I'll post a route in a little while, but we'll be headed to White Bear Lake to Cup & Cone for raspberry, vanilla or chocolate custard or if too early for ice cream, you can go to Caribou right next door for a beverage and some tasty stuff. Please check back later today for a route.
